I%26#039;ve heard I should get a Non-Immigrant Class B, but I%26#039;m not going to be working, so that doesn%26#039;t make sense to me. Can someone explain please? I%26#039;m in the United States.|||You can infact still live in Thailand and train for up to a year! You will need to arrange a long stay B-type ED student visa see wsebsite http://www.thaiembdc.org/consular/visa/N... The terms basically mean you promise you are not a tourist and that you WILL NOT WORK whilst in the country, you are literally there to train (be educated in the art of Muay Thai sounds better on applications). To get this you need to apply PRIOR to your departure, by sending a certificate of attendance from the Muay Thai camp you wish to train at to your local Thai embassy.
The following steps will assure you don鈥檛 end up VISA-less, don鈥檛 miss any out!!!
Step 1 - E-mail the camp you wish to train / stay at telling them you wish to train with them for 鈥榵x鈥?amount of months and the date you are arriving. They will get back to you with three documents:
1. An official invitational letter from the gyms owner to yourself
2. The Gym Certificate
3. The Company Registration Documents
Step 2 - You basically need to prove you are able to live in Thailand and get back to the UK within your allocated time. To do this you need:
1. Evidence of sufficient funds (20,000 Baht per person)
2. Passport (valid until at least 6 months after your return date)
Step 3 - Now the documents needed specifically for the VISA application to make up your VISA card:
1. The correct fee
2. Two Passport sized photographs
3. Visa registration documents fully completed
Just to confirm all of that, you will need the following to apply for your VISA:
Proof of savings in the form of a bank statement
Passport (at least 6 months validity after your return)
Gym Invitation
Gym Certificate
Gym Registration
2 x passport Photos
Filled out VISA application form for Single or Multi-Enty (ED) VISA
Once you have done all this you can either post your application (do it at least 6 weeks before you go!!!) or you can travel down to an embassy and pay directly over the desk - most only take 20 minutes to an hour to process.|||Khun Bob has answered this fully...as to one of the posters saying a working holiday visa....there is no such thing in Thailand|||what about working holiday visa?
