I am going to start lessons after Christmas, and I want to train hard core. I want some good stuff to have at home to train after class, and I hear banana bags are good, but what else should I get? I want to build a good MT training area. Please mention specific brands that you would recommend, if any.|||fairtex, twins, windy, king, are all good brands of gear.
if you want to build a little home gym, you should get mirrors so you%26#039;re able to look at your technique, a bag, preferably hanging. a few pair of gloves so you can train with other people, a set of thai pads, focus mitts, and a few sets of shin guards for sparring, and few sets of head gear. ( i wouldnt worry about those body protector things too much, they are a little expensive, and ive never needed one when sparring). oh and maybe some elbow pads made specifically for muay thai, if you plan on sparring with elbows.
of course this would all be expensive as crap, so just buy a few things at a time to get you started.. like maybe start with the gloves and the thai pads so you and a friend can start training right away, and then just keep building from there. then you can start adding kick-a$$ muay thai posters to your walls, then you can start charging people to train at your gym :P haha jk
good luck and happy training!
