Can muay thai be a good substitute for running?

Our kickboxing routine is pretty intense and it lasts for about one hour. I think it helped me with my cardio allot. I was just wondering if it could replace running since i work almost all parts of my body working out and i have no time to run anymore because of my tight schedule. Also, will it help with my running endurance?|||try substituting running with hill sprints. they are done in under 15 minutes, are painful, and increase cardio, power, and recovery (which is the biggest thing you will notice).

my Muay Thai endurance got easier from only 3 months (2x a week) of hill sprints. Oxygen uptake increased.

after 3 months I could run to the top of the hill and I was back to normal breathing and heart rate in only a few minutes. just what you need between rounds.

it was a steep hill too. bought 100mtrs in length.

running with a partner...

the first time ever, I tried running to the top. no way, it was a struggle. do this as an initial tester, including time to get up, and time to recover your breath.

then to start (as an example):

run 1/4, then back to tag partner

they run as you did, then tag you

run 1/3, then back to tag partner

they run as you did, then tag you

run 1/4, then back to tag partner

they run as you did, then tag you

run 1/2, then back to tag partner

they run as you did, then tag you

after 2 months try the full length again.

then 3 months etc. I could do it twice, with pushups in between runs while waiting for my partner to return. 3 months!

so find a hill that is step, mark it out, get to it. it hurts the legs, butt, and lungs, but it is worth it for ring fighting endurance and explosive power.|||It will help your endurance, but probably not your distance. You are working different muscle groups in different ways. I would suggest still running as often as you can, even to the point of skipping a KB class every so often. I will help you keep your body balanced.|||my kickboxing class is a 2 hours and its hard just going through the worm up lol

but you should still run but maybe run less thats what i would do

but then again after kickboxing i dont feel like running becuase im sore for like 4 days lol|||depends on what you want it to benefit you in. Endurance? yea you%26#039;re working a lot of muscle groups when it comes to kick boxing. Distance? i don%26#039;t really know about that, it probably can make you lose weight and make you lighter on your feet if you practice your footwork, either way you%26#039;ll benefit one way or another.

Peace
