Muay Thai teacher is a woman. If I want to fight competitively is this the right class?

My teacher is a small, hispanic woman. She seems knowledgeable but I am not sure if she is going to teach me how to really fight and inflict pain, you know what I mean? I also am concerned that there are a lot of older women (40s) in my class.|||I think that you are jumping to conclusions before the fact here. The fact that the instructor is a women has nothing to do with if she can teach you to be competitive. i suggest that you stay in the class for awhile and try to look at things in a more objective manner. If you can%26#039;t bring yourself to do that then you are not being fair to the instructor. You may also be passing up the best option you have in your area. Back off and train. you will know the answer once you look at it objectively.|||I wouldn%26#039;t worry about the instructor. The most terrifying person I know is a certain little blonde who says the words %26quot;like%26quot; and %26quot;omigawd%26quot; and %26quot;whatever%26quot; more than should be legal.

You might, however, worry about the people taking the class with you. If you really want to learn to fight and hurt people (shame on you), then talk with the teacher. Make your expectations clear and then ask if this is the place for you.|||I%26#039;d be more worried about the people taking the class with you. If they lack physical fitness, they could hold the rate of the course back. But I wouldn%26#039;t judge the teacher just yet. The most terrifying person I%26#039;ve ever met is an older woman who stands at 4%26#039; 8%26quot;. You don%26#039;t want to mess with her.|||switch to a different school with people around your age but the way gas prices are it might be alittle hard to travel kind of far to a school.

don%26#039;t matter if you learn it from a male or female as long as you train hard listen and grasp the knowledge.|||it doesnt matter. all an instructor does is teach you technique. if you are going to compete you need a strength and conditioning coach as well
