What is a muay thai/mma/boxing class like?

For about a year now i have had a private muay thai instructor. She had asked me if i wanted to be serious about it and that she had connections ( since she was a two time wbl champ and all)

i was just wondering what are normal classes like? do they only take the best serious and train only the best for fights, set up fights etc.?

|||%26quot;Classes%26quot; are usually more for hobbyists and such. Though certainly mileage does vary from style to style and gym to gym. But without really knowing what types of training you%26#039;ve been doing or what you%26#039;d want to start your individualized private instruction is likely or could be much, much, much better (both more strenuous and more focused on your personal needs).

What your instructor could likely mean is that in order to reach the next level you need to train in the company of other serious athletes. You need the sparring experience and probably to up the intensity of what you%26#039;re already doing to bring you to a pro level.

It%26#039;s just been my experience but I%26#039;ve never seen privates as a step down at all from entry level style classes. Though on the flip side I have seen many hobbyists just linger in only taking private lessons who have no serious drive for any kind of competition and thereby never reach the next level.

Hope I was some help.|||No a lot of clubs will take allcomers. Some might be professional clubs only, or have professional nights only, but most still have their beginners, average people, people just there to get fit or get in shape.

Generally you work out as a group , do some warm ups and skipping, stretches then go onto some technique and combos. Later in the class the guys who want to spar go aside to do that. The rest contiune on with whatever the coach sets for them.

It is a serious atmosphere but not arrogant or scary. Everyone is too busy doing their own thing(and sweating their *** off :)) to have any attitude anyway.

It would probably be no different from what you are already doing, you will just be doing it with other people of varying levels.

And don%26#039;t be shy to walk up to the toughest pro there afterwards and ask him tips or say hello if you want. The best way to learn is to be inspired by others.|||idk
