When sparring in Muay Thai, it is almost impossible to use elbows (even with using elbow pads) read details...

Even though we train (on pads etc.), using elbow strikes.

When sparring in Muay Thai, it is almost impossible to use elbows (even whem using elbow pads).

If we train as we mean to fight, would this mean in a fighting situation, we would neglect the usage of elbow attacks?

Would using elbows on pads, instead of sparring, be effective? Are there any solutions?|||I%26#039;m a Muay Thai fighter... You just need EXPERIENCE. Combo in your elbows, rush in, clinch.

Do a lot of bag work, to practice elbows, or have a partner who%26#039;s willing to train with you with elbows.

You also got to figure out, what type of fighter are you...

Are you an %26quot;In-fighter%26quot; Meaning you stay close, but that also means you don%26#039;t really kick.

%26quot;Out-Fighter%26quot; you keep your distance, and have really good foot-work. Hit and run tactics, very strategic.

I%26#039;m an %26quot;In-Fighter%26quot;, so I stay close, elbow, knee, and clinch as much as possible. I rarely kick, or throw long straights unless they actually back off from my barrage of attacks.

So always combo your elbows in, clinch, and then elbow them off, or have them charge in and back elbow them.

Thanks!|||You can use elbow pads, but also make sure to wear head gear when sparring. No need for elbow pads when doing bag work or mitt drills.
