I read that the kickboxers from the Netherlands came close to beating the Thai kickboxers, but weren%26#039;t able to really beat the top level fighters from Thailand.|||Basicly it isn%26#039;t the style, I think, that would make them the toughest fighters. Watch a few videos of people training muay thai in thailand... you%26#039;ll even see little kids there, I think the reason theyre so tough is they take the sport on at such an early age. personal opinion though|||Actually Dutch and Netherland fighters rule the higher weights.
The truth is there aren%26#039;t that many large Thaiwanese Muay Thai kickboxers, they mostly rule the lighter weight classes.
Anything from 180lbs and up is usually ruled Dutch/Netherland fighters, with a few other thrown in there.
But as far as lightweights go, Thais are where it%26#039;s at, mainly because they have been fighting (as in a ring competetively)since childhood at local events before moving up to the Pro fights.
Middle to Heavyweight is generally ruled by Dutch/Netherland fighters.|||Yes, the toughest training....And maybe fighter in muay thai kick boxing. The reason is win or no dinner. In the west, you can loss and still have a good meal. In the west it is sometime to much of a sport, to be good you need time and money. Often in Thailand, you fight to support the family. Hell it is. Back to basic training. Banana tree only, no punch/kick bag.|||Yes they are. Nothing like poverty to bring out the beast. Seriously.|||No theres no telling who is the toughest in the world because there may be a some muay thai students in say Virginia Beach who are ten times better than some of the ones in Thailand. But there may be some in Thailand who are ten times better than some students in lets say Wisconsin. Its physically impossible to see who is the toughest fighter or what ever because to be a 100% sure you would have to test it on every person in the world.|||It%26#039;s a matter of national pride and Thai%26#039;s train really hard. I know one kickboxer from the Netherlands that fought like a Thailander. His name is Ramon Dekkers. Mention his name in Thailand and everybody knows him. He beat top level Thai fighters. He also lost but mostly to decisions where Thai judges usually favor the Thai fighters. He is a legend in Muay Thai martial arts. His coach was Cor Hammers (stepfather) same coach as Bas Rutten (I think you know Bas)|||i would say they have the most knowledge of the sport and the best training methods but its hard to say if a particular country would be the best at anything
