If you are very shy and not really outspoken, is taking Muay thai not a good idea?

I%26#039;m a pretty shy guy, but I%26#039;ve taken an interest in Muay Thai, is martial arts a bad idea for insecure and shy people?|||what would give you that idea?of course it%26#039;s a good idea.look at some of my other postings you%26#039;ll find some info on martial arts including muay thai.theres also a link you can try.|||No it is not a bad idea, martial arts are perfect for shy and insecure people. They allow you to build confidence, make new connections with new people and open yourself to new experiences. I know a number of people who were shy, quiet, adn timid before they took a martial art. Now they have all changed, they are still the same person but now that have the confidence they never had before. You should give it a shot and I am sure you will be happy with the results.|||Just because your personality falls into that category does not mean you should not walk that path of interest in your life at this time. Only you will know the true answer to this question. All of us are more than happy to tell you to do it and check it out...but you still have to listen to your heart. I know (just as I am) quite a few people that have the same personality type. Muay Thai will actually help you %26quot;break out%26quot; of your shell. Or at least give you a bit of confidence to walk this path. Most of the fighters I know are pretty reserved. . .not a lot of %26quot;confident%26quot; fighters are arrogant...most are humble. But get them in the ring and it%26#039;s a completely different person. Martial arts help you in getting in touch with your other side. I believe that when you are in touch with it. . .you become more centered.|||No, its a great idea, theres nothing wrong with being shy. I used to be. Now I%26#039;m very outgoing though. I believe martial arts may have helped with that.|||You%26#039;re wrong. Do some research on those such as Apide Hirun Sit, Samkor, and few others. Those guys are or use to be one of the most feared MuayThai fighter of their time, but in public they%26#039;re painfully shy.

There%26#039;s also many fighters out there who are shy.|||Take it. It will build your confidence and self esteem if anything. Doesnt matter if you are shy. Just let your teacher know ahead of time so he can adjust your training slightly for you.

Not everyone who takes Muay Thai is a stone cold rock hard killer looking for new ways to put a hurting on people. Most people are normal, average, every day people.

Take what interests you. Without the interest you will not experience the journey.|||Go 4 it ! It may very well boost urself confidence %26amp; perhaps youll get get 2 meet sum cool ppl.|||i think your approach to this is a little off.

in my opinion, if you%26#039;re shy, you are shy. that has everything to do with how you choose to approach people. being shy vs. outspoken will have nothing to do with whether a martial art is a good fit for you. you can go 20yrs in a martial art and be shy. the benefits are physical first, then mental; and the mental positives aren%26#039;t exactly with how you choose to deal with people as much as your confidence in yourself during an altercation.

but like i said, just my opinion.
