How much would you recommend Muay Thai? Is there also any danger of permantly damaging something? Isnt it a type of thailand boxing?
The reason is it looks really good and I would love to learn it but is there a chance of permantly damaging something so that I would have to stop learning it?|||Hope you don%26#039;t mind but this is meant lightheartedly and I hope that you enjoy the joke|:

This sport is best learned at a young age so your bones get stronger as you grow. This sport does look good but this is in no way used for self defense, it is a purely offensive sport where the aim is to destroy your opponent by the most vicious way possible. I saw a fight once where this guy got elbowed at the top of the head and it made a very deep 5 inch cut, you could see his skull, it was pretty gross but that%26#039;s the sort of sport it is.|||If you are worried about your health, stay away from Muay Thai. Yes, it is the national sport of thailand. But the risks of injury is much higher than in boxing of kickboxing because you are allowed to strike with your knees and elbows (also to the head). Since there are no gloves for elbows and knees, the risk of permanent damages is evident.|||Muay Thai is the national sport of thailand which uses all the limbs, fist, elbow, knee and feet. It is prob one of the toughest stand up fighting systems there is and is great for self drfence and self esteem.
like all combat sports there are dangers but if you thought to much about it you could get hurt crossing the road to the library like a previous guy answered!!
so i suggest you find a good club and go along and try it out, they wont let you get to involved too quickly so you will be fit to guage if you like it or not|||Well i know a guy that does mui thai and he is a total ***. Your in great danger of permamently damaging your brain and turning into an *** like him. He%26#039;s claims he was bright and had good grades at school but if thats true then its damaged his head too cos he%26#039;s thick as pig ****.
To the guy saying that its self defence... It%26#039;s not. They teach you to be very aggresive and to cause maximum pain and damage. I%26#039;v done self defence and its far different from what they learn|||of course there is a chance of damaging something. it really depends on what you are planning to do. as a self defense tool, it isn%26#039;t worth much. you%26#039;d be better off doing krav maga or something. if you want to compete or do mma, it%26#039;s pretty good though. bottom line, you need to train right and keep in shape. muay thai is very physical.|||just be careful
i did muay thai and hated it so i started tae kwon do|||Much less violence at the library, where you can learn something to get better qualified, and increase your income!|||Muay Thai looks insanely awsome. Ever seen Ong Bak
I strongly suggest watching it
But it is extremely violent
my uncle did it and quit
he told me never to do it :/|||its self defence so less is more
