Muay Thai???

Does anyone know how to describe what this is, and the correct pronunciation of it?|||it is pronounced like the spanish word muy and the 1st syllable of thailand. muay= moo(like a cow)- e, thai= tie(like a bow tie). i cant help but laugh cuz my dad used to call it mai tai which is a alcoholic drink

anyways muay thai is the science of 8 limbs, because you attack with punches, kicks, knees, and elbows. its a combat sport/martial art and its pretty simple try to knock the other person using a combonation of your 8 limbs. thai boxers punch pretty similarly to western boxers with jabs, hooks, uppercuts, and crosses and with boxing gloves. the kicks(roundhouse) are a little different from other arts. alot of other arts chamber there kicks and strike with the foot, muay thai swings there leg like a baseball bat and the power comes from the hips resulting in a more power kick. 2 types of attacks that many other martial arts dont use are knees and elbows which can prove to be a VERY devestating close range attacks. with all 8 points of impact muay thai has all attacking ranges cover in a standing fight|||Muay Thai is a martial art from Thailand, and its national sport. Its more of a self offense martial art rather then a self defensive one. It uses devastating elbows, knees, kicks, and punches. The punching techniques are basically those of western boxing, the elbows are used to cut an opponent open, knees are generally used in a clinch, the kicks generally use the shin area to strike rather then foot.|||fighting using only your legs and hands inorder to win you must knock the opponent out. Muay Thai is the closest way to pronounce it.
