How to train for muay thai?

So Ive looked and look on sites and stuff because i want to learn Muay Thai, but i cant find anything. And also a good routine for it if someone could help that would be great!!|||Muay Thai is a combat sport. You can not learn it alone and you can not learn it on line. you have to go to a gym. Find either a Muay Thai gym or MMA school to learn it. You will start off hitting and kicking the heavy back to get your techniques right and you will also be a human punching bag when sparring. |||Unfortunately there is no way for someone to simply write a routine for you to learn Muay Thai. It is much more involved than that.

I would suggest learning from an instructor at a class.

You can buy videos and books to assist you in your training, or to even learn the basic techniques. However, you won%26#039;t be able to really test yourself and develop fully until you have someone to train with.

Unless you were looking for ideas on how to supplement your training?

|||Have you tried http://muaythai.me ?

The following three pages show you the basic techniques of muay thai, and some combos:

http://muaythai.me/basic_techniques.php

http://muaythai.me/basictechniques2.php

http://muaythai.me/basictechniques3.php

and this page shows you a written description, as well as a typical routine:

Learning from videos is limited, but sometimes, it is all you can do until you find a decent gym, where the instructor will be able to refine your technique.

Meanwhile, skip rope, doing some body weight exercises, stretch, and get a heavy bag for practicing the technique.

In the near future, muaythai.me will be releasing some free workout mp3 tracks, which you will be able to use for shadowboxing, and on the bag.... something to look forward to...|||Well like everyone said, you cannot really train without real instructions.

You need to learn the basics of the sport. If you learn it wrong first, your screwed at the end.

But if you really insist on learning it, use a DVD, they take you step by step and show you.

I recommend Rob %26quot;razor%26quot; McCollaugh%26#039;s DVD. I think I spelled his name wrong. but anyways, Ive seen and been in his classes so Im sure his DVD reflects that well and its a top seller on MMA sites.

But really, check out a gym, you may like it. Check www.fightresource.com to find a gym by you. Maybe just take advantage of the trial period gyms give and just learn your basics or what ever.

Anyways, good luck|||Yep Muay Thai gym would be the best place for you. The guy before me already stated the facts. Good luck, you could read some books on it just to get background and state of mind down, but to actually train you need to have someone to spar with and show you the manuevers. |||go to a class its the only way to really learn a martial art.|||You need someone to practice with..
